# Remove organization member

> Removes an active member from a business organization by their `customerId` (the JWT `sub`). To revoke a not-yet-accepted email invite, use [Revoke organization invite](/api-reference/organizations/revoke-organization-invite) instead.

The target org must be a business org you own (your own org or a direct child).
